Weasel releases first song after Mowzey Radio‘s death titled ‘Tokyayitaba‘, and it is a tribute to the fallen star.
Since Mowzey Radio’s death, singing partner and friend Weasel a.k.a Douglas Seguya Mayanja has been amidst a couple of events. Too many controversial moments surrounding his daily life, the most recent one being the viral video of Weasel being disrespected by Brian White. Nonetheless, Weasel has been in studio like he promised and he has a beautiful song to show for this. We made this review to dissect the content of the song;
Weasel starts off the song by crediting Goodlyfe and Angel music, and goes ahead to express how hard and trying this period has been for him in the first verse. He sings about the value of life and that he takes each day as it comes since he does not know when his final day will come. In the chorus, accompanied by King Saha‘s soft background vocals, Weasel sings about how one day morning will come and you will be called upon but you will not be able to answer.
In verse 2, he sings in Swahili and you can feel the sorrow in his voice as he flows to the dancehall beats. He sings about how quickly it went from the sorrow of losing AK47 to the tears Mowzey Radio’s shocking death brought to his eyes. He asks God to strengthen him, his fans, and Radio’s family. He insists that even in solace, he will not back down and will fight on against all odds till the end. He signs off by saying, “Yo! Rest In Peace my brother, till we link again. Say hi to AK47. I know you’re having a good time there, we miss you.”
The song was produced by Eno Beats, at his Makindye based studio.
