Jamaican singer Tarrus Riley is finally coming to Uganda courtesy of Swangz Avenue, which is set to celebrate a decade they have spent in the music business. The Jamaican star will be performing at the Swangz All Stars Concert.
The Maswangali based record label is set to celebrate 10 years in the music business and they are planning a really big party to celebrate the successful decade. Swangz Avenue, the Ugandan film and audio production agency, has booked the services of world reggae star Tarrus Riley to perform at the concert. 31st August has been set aside as the date for this concert, and it will take place at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
This is Tarrus Riley’s second attempt to perform in Uganda as he failed to appear last year when the promoters of a show on which he was expected to perform was canceled the event. Reggae fans in Uganda were greatly disappointed, and Tarrus Riley too was disappointed as he openly expressed on his social media platforms. This time however, Swangz Avenue is starting the preparations a bit early to make sure everything goes as planned to avoid a repeat of what happened last year.
A couple of local artistes have been contacted and booked to perform at the event alongside Tarrus Riley. Most notably is the ‘Mafia‘ singer Fik Fameica who took it to social media to announce that he will perform at the event after signing the deal with Swangz Avenue. Winnie Nwagi, Zulanda, Vinka, Viboyo, who are the artistes signed to Swangz Avenue will most definitely perform as well.
We can’t wait to have the ‘Don’t Come Back‘ singer back here in our republic.
