kasuku while stressing a point on set

Media personality and motormouth Kasuku is back to work after a full month off air. He reported back to his daily duties smartly dressed and it is business as usual after an alleged forced leave which was as a result of the comments he made about fallen singer Mowzey radio.

Isaac Katende, a.k.a Kasuku, a radio and TV personality who recently felt the wrath of the public on social media for his unappropriate statements he made about the late singer Moses Sekibogo a.k.a Mowzey Radio has finally been reinstated to his job at Dembe FM and Spark TV.

Kasuku was put on leave by his employees after the public spearheaded by Sisimuka Uganda‘s Frank Gashumba and a coalition of other Ugandan artsites under the Save Uganda Music umbrella group signed and forwarded a petition to Dembe FM and Nation Media Group’s NTV. The petition was with intent to have Kasuku fired by his employees for the utterances he made about fallen singer Moses Radio.

Frank Gashumba spearheaded the petition against Kasuku.

About a year ago, while live on a radio show, Kasuku said that Mowzey Radio will find someone who will smash his head. This was after Radio threw a deejay’s laptop into a swimming pool for failure to play his songs while at the late Ivan Semwanga’s vigil night. In his own words, Kasuku said;

“Mowzey Radio njagala lumu bamukube omutwe bagwase! (translated in english) One day I want someone to beat up Mowzey Radio’s head and smash it!”

These are the words that landed the ever jolly radio presenter into trouble after the eventual death of Mowzey Radio on February 1st, with many people demanding Kasuku to be fired for his reckless speech. Mowzey Radio’s family, friends and fellow artistes felt that the unapologetic Kasuku had been insensitive with what he said especially after their singer died in quite an identical way when his head is reported to have been cracked open after a bar brawl.

Today however, Kasuku reported back to work after a month off air. Dressed in a black suit and a silky black bow tie, Kasuku appeared on the ‘Twezimbe‘ Live TV program on Spark TV together with his co-hosts Ruth Kalibala and Shafik Kayima. He also posted on social media saying,”I’m back with a bang. Back in Style. Back on Spark TV, back on Dembe FM and this is how I dress on the 1st day of reporting back to work after leave!”
