Yesterday, Jose Chameleone visited the Uganda Performing Rights Society (U.P.R.S) offices located in Kamwokya and he collected his royalties from the body.
Jose Chameleone visited the UPRS offices to collect his royalties and to know more about how the music body operates. Chameleone, in company of his son Alfa Mayanja, were welcomed at the offices and Chameleone was addressed about how the society operates.
UPRS is a society that was formed in 1985 by authors (mainly musicians) to advance the cause of copyright administration in Uganda. It is registered with the Registrar of Companies as a Company Limited by Guarantee having no share Capital, in other words it belongs to all of its members. It looks forward to a country free from infringement of copyright laws. Its members include all artistes that subscribe to it through email or by visiting their offices in Kamwokya.
Jose Chameleone was later given his loyalties that have over the years been collected by the collecting body. Other artistes have already subscribed to UPRS services and have collected their royalties already.
