Burundian Singer Kidumu was poisoned, and admitted in worrying state. The Nairobi based singer was back home in Burundi when the incident happened.

Kidum, real names Nimbona Kidum Jean-Pierre, was recently poisoned and admitted in a hospital in Bujumbura in a critical condition. According to his social media post the ‘Mapenzi’ singer’s kidneys have been damaged due to the poison and he was advised to stay under close watch by a medical team in hospital. Kidum was also denied permission to fly back to Kenya due to his unstable health condition.

Kidum wrote;

“I was about to be discharged but the hospital has changed that decision because they have just discovered that the poison has spoilt my kidneys.”

The singer was however later discharged from hospital yesterday evening, and doctors have been assigned to follow up on his condition.

Kidum dominated the airwaves around 2010, and he did many collaborations with East African artistes including the ‘Haturudi Nyuma’ song on which he featured Ugandan songstress Juliana Kanyomozi.

Get well soon Kidum!
