Bryan White, the most trending socialite right now has been set free finally after he won a court case pinning him to attempted murder. The case against him was withdrawn by the DPP. Read the full story.
Just after his breakout onto the social scene, Bryan White was remanded to Luzira Maximum security prison together with his bodyguard Okot Thomas after being reported by a one Victor Bitwire who claimed the two attempted to kill him on the night of December 13th in Munyonyo. Victor claimed he was shot at by the two and was left to nurse injuries for a long time.
Bryan White and his bodyguard spent nearly a few weeks in prison and were granted a Shs 20M cash bail on January 7th, according them temporary freedom but the case went on to be heard occasionally. The philanthropist has been in and out of courtrooms for a couple of times pursuing this case, and he was on the verge of life imprisonment in case he lost the case. However, the socialite is now finally a free man.
This afternoon (March 10th), Mike Chibita the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) dismissed the court proceedings against Bryan White. This comes after Bryan White reconciled with his accuser Bitwire outside court, and the two agreed on withdrawing the case from court and settling the issue out of court. Bryan White agreed to compensate for injuring Victor Bitwire and it is on that count that the DPP withdrew the court case today.
As you would expect, Bryan White was accompanied to court with various artistes and comedians from his Bryan White Foundation and they were seen celebrating their patron’s freedom immediately he was announced free.
The tycoon quickly took it to social media to break the good news to his fans. He wrote;
