On Tuesday night, the Federation of Uganda Football Association officially launched its new FUFA Anthem and FUFA Flag, and guess who is the voice behind the FUFA Anthem – Irene Ntale. The singer put her voice to a composition made by Moses Hashim Magogo, the FUFA President.
It seems now that each Ugandan artiste is on the move that will see their legacy cemented for years even after they are unable to enter a recording booth anymore. We have seen Eddy Kenzo’s involvement with the Uganda Tourism Board and the Uganda Museum, and now Irene Ntale has composed the FUFA anthem.
The Federation of Uganda Football Association, in a bid to transform into a better corporate body, have focused on creating a desirable identity. The key aspects of representation among corporate organizations are known to be the distinctive traditions, colors, logos, themes, anthems and flags among others.
The FUFA Anthem was composed by the President of the Federation, Moses Magogo who acquired the services of music diva, Irene Ntale to put her sweet voice onto the anthem. The anthem depicts the spirit of nationalism calling upon all Ugandans, fans, Sponsors and Government to rally their support towards the different National teams. Also it calls upon the different stakeholders to come together in unity and help develop the beautiful game of football together.
To elaborate on how he got the inspiration to compose the Anthem, Moses Magogo had this to say;
I got the inspiration in the middle of the night on a football trip in one of the Arab Countries, I wrote the lyrics and shared with people who know music and I believe the Anthem will be a factor for unification. Music is as source of inspiration and even in wars, people always sing to get motivated. I’m glad that we have continued to build regalia and brand of the institution of FUFA.
Irene Ntale performed her other songs while at the official launch of the FUFA Anthem at Serena Hotel, and the FUFA officials as well as other personalities from the government grooved to her music as well as applauding her ability to execute Magogo’s composition into a beautiful, powerful piece of music.
