The Ice Cream and Cake Festival is an annual event that usually happens at the Uganda Museum and yesterday (Sunday 13th May) its third edition took place with many families flocking the event in anticipation of a fun-filled day. Many artistes were advertised to perform at the event including Fik Fameica who failed to show up.

Revelers at the Ice Cream and Cake Festival.

Fik Fameica, since breaking out on the scene with many hit songs that are favorites to Ugandans of all ages, has been a familiar face at most events. He is overly booked to perform at almost all the major events across the country. Yesterday was not any different as he was booked to perform at the Toto Festival in Mbarara.

The ‘Property’ singer stepped on stage to perform for the eagerly waiting fans at around 7pm and posted a video of his performance for his fans on social media to know which was his next destination; the Uganda Museum.

It being a weekend, the journey from Mbarara to Kampala must have been the hardest he has ever been through considering the traffic jam along the road and Fik Fameica failed to make it to the Uganda Museum before the closure of the event.

The Ice Cream and Cake Festival came to closure at around 10:30pm very much to the disappointment of the revelers who had patiently waited for the ‘Kutama’ star to perform for them but all in vain. Some people who attended the show even asked for a refund as the explanations from the organizers fell on deaf ears.

People brought their families.

Unlike in many incidents where property at the venue is destroyed after artistes fail to perform, the revelers including young children only cried foul of the incident and walked away in frustration as many vowed never to listen to Fik Fameica’s songs again sighting that it is not the first time he is failing to perform at events where he is advertised. Others demanded an apology from the artiste.

An apology is yet to come from Fik Fameica, and his management is still tight-lipped about the issue as well.
