The name Sipapa resonates well with controversial moments. The city socialite who has for long been on the watch by police was eventually arrested. He tried to plead on his knees to be forgiven but the merciless police officers ignored his pleas, and not even his money could save him.

Sipapa real names Olim Charles rose to fame for his lavish lifestyle and active involvement in the entertainment industry. He own Sipapa Entertainment, a group of various artistes from around Uganda, and quite a number of properties including a fleet of personalized cars.

Some of Sipapa’s cars do not possess number plates and he has been on the watch-list of the traffic police for a long time. His luck ran out today at around 11:00am when he was stopped by traffic police at William Street who immediately ordered him out of his car.

The police officers arrested Sipapa for violation of traffic rules. At the time when he was stopped, he was driving without a seat-belt in his new range rover. He was taken in to record a statement and was given a ticket with a fine worth Shs100,000.

Kampala Metropolitan Police issued a statement following his arrest, and it read;

City socialite Charles Olim aka SIPAPA has been arrested for violating traffic rules. His arrest comes after public outcry on abuse of traffic rules with impunity by social celebrities and high profile motor vehicles including government cars. Police now warns motorists over road indiscipline that will lead to arrests of everyone regardless of their social status.
