Ugandan-born Sheila Atim may be relatively unknown to many, but the 26-year-old Briton is making her mark. She is part of the full cast set to join Mark Rylance and Andre Holland in Claire Van Kampen’s production of ‘Othello’ at Shakespeare’s Globe

Sheila Atim is an actress, singer, and composer widely known for Halcyon Heights, Sulphur and White, and Harlots. She originally planned on becoming a doctor – earning a degree in biomedical science at King’s College London. She then pursued an acting career that seems to be on the right path now with these new developments.

Sheila is back to the Globe to be in the ‘Othello’ show as Emilia. Her partners include Catherine Bailey who will play Bianca and Doge of Venice, William Chubb who will play Brabantio, Stefan Donnelly who will play Roderigo, Aaron Pierre who will play Cassio, among many others.

Mark Rylance will star the highly anticipated show in the role alongside Andre Holland as Othello. It is directed by Van Kampen who also composes the music on the show, and the designs made by Jonathan Fensom.

Uganda’s Sheila Atim could not hide the excitement when the news reached her and she shared with her followers;

Good luck Sheila, bigger things coming you way!
