Born on 7th June 1988 in Arusha, Vanessa Hau Mdee a.ka Cash Madame a.k.a Vee Money is a Tanzanian recording artist, singer, songwriter, youth activist, TV and radio host. Her fame began at an early age when she became the very first Tanzanian MTV VJ.

Her music journey began on a high notch joining B’Hits Music Group in 2012 where she secured a collaboration with the legendary A.Y on her song titled ‘Money’. She then recorded ‘Me and You’ featuring Ommy Dimpoz which was voted Song of the Year  in the 2013 Kilimanjaro Music Awards.

Vanessa released her first solo song on 13th January 2013 titled ‘Closer’ which received massive airplay edging a record of over 30,000 downloads a feat no other Tanzanian artiste had done before.

The song also lasted thirteen weeks on the charts and it is from there that she picked momentum until today as she is regarded as one of Africa’s biggest female artistes with major hits like ‘Nobody But Me’, ‘Never Ever’, ‘Niroge’, ‘Cash Madame’, and her latest ‘Wet’ featuring G. Nako, among others.

Vee Money has been part of different Coke Studio seasons from which she has acquired major continental collaborations being the type of lady who always maximally utilizes each and every opportunity provided to her. She has worked with most artistes she is paired with at the Coke Studio and produced big hits.

She got too close for comfort during the 2016 Coke Studio Africa session as she worked with Trey Songz, something which almost led to a breakup with her jealous boyfriend, fellow artiste Juma Jux. She however dismissed any reports claiming she had a thing going on with the American R&B singer saying they are just close friends and nothing more.

For the men here, Vanessa Mdee is taken. Yeah, sorry! She has always preferred to keep her love life away from the media but being a star, there is not much she can hide. She is engaged to fellow singer Juma Jux and once in a while, they cannot hide their affection for each other even in public.
