Racism still exists and it is out there in open sight. Ugandan rapper Navio Kigozi has lashed out at the management of Habibi Bar and Lounge, a new bar along Ggaba Road in Kansanga, for having a racist recruitment policy after the bar announced they were recruiting staff according to their race.

The issue of racism might last forever despite the massive efforts worldwide to wipe it out. In Uganda, it might not be seen often but that is because people have chosen not to expose the few cases that usually happen in some hangout spots owned by foreigners.

A few years ago, there was a big out-roar by revelers who hangout at the bars mainly in Kololo sighting an increase in racism. Many Ugandans have fallen victims of silent discrimination and despite reporting the several cases, not much has been done. Now however, a celebrity has rose to the same effect regarding a new bar in Kansanga which recruits staff according to race.

Habibi bar and lounge is a new bar in Kansanga along Ggaba Road. In the management’s efforts to recruit staff, a one Naomi took it to social media to advertise about available opportunities. She wrote;

Indian candidate needed for Habibi Bar & Lounge at Ggaba Road, Kansanga, Kampala.

This seemed to annoy Navio Kigozi who responded strongly against the statement saying if they cannot hire fairly on Ugandan soil then they might need to set up business where they are from and hire from there.
