Forget the UGX 200 that will obviously affect the common man, celebrities are also already feeling the pinch caused by the social media tax that took effect on Sunday 1st July 2018. Anita Fabiola was bashed by her followers for supporting the infamous OTT tax.

As many Ugandans cursed the day the government developed the idea to tax social media usage, NBS TV’s ‘Katch Up’ presenter Anita Fabiola was busy upholding the infamous tax. In her opinion, Ugandans need to pay the tax for her business to keep going on.

The socialite explained why she thinks people should ‘just pay’ the new tax because people like them need those likes and comments for business. Fabiola’s comments seem to have incited the already angry social media users who immediately reacted to her statement with some calling her ‘selfish’ because her opinion did not consider the poor.
