After years of bickering and constant court visits, Radio and Weasel (Goodlyfe) might finally be off the leash with Makindye Court dismissing the case lodged against them by Jeff Kiwa in 2016. The duo had been battling the case in which Jeff, their former manager, implicated them of defamation.

Uganda’s music industry has experienced different conflicts between artistes and their former managers but the battle between Radio and Weasel and Jeff Kiwa seems to stand out. Having fell out in 2014, Radio and Weasel were at different occasions heard regarding their former manager to be all things but good.

At one point, in June 2016, they allegedly accused him of witchcraft and other ritual practices which they claimed is his source of wealth and dominance. Jeff Kiwa reported and file a case which has been under hearing at Makindye Court.

Jeff asked for close to UGX 1billion in compensation and public apology from the duo to which they declined claiming there are many people by the names Jeff Kiwa and so they could have been refering to any of those and not particularly their former manager.

After all this time on pending, the court dismissed the case sighting that it did not find enough reason to implicate the only surviving member of the duo, Weasel, after the death of the other (Mowzey Radio), as Chagga confirmed. Mowzey Radio died on February 1st after days in coma due severe injuries that he sustained following a bar brawl at De Bar, a bar in Entebbe.

It also seems like Jeff Kiwa is no longer interested as well with close sources around him indicating that his major beef was against the late Mowzey Radio and not Weasel, something which might see this entire elongated beef vanish in thin air.

It’s what we would want to see anyway. The industry has had enough of it already.
