Ugandan songstress Rema Namakula has distanced herself from the screenshot of a social media post that made rounds over the weekend indicating that she was in a bitter war of words with Gagamel boss Bebe Cool over his reactions on the social media tax (OTT).

Celebrities have time and again fallen victim of cyber bullying who create social media fake accounts in their names to extort money from their fans and music promoters. Others use these same accounts to hurl insults at fellow artistes with an aim of creating unnecessary beef.

This has often damaged innocent celebrities’ reputations especially among their fans who fail to realize they are from fake people disguising to be their favorite role models. Some celebrities have found a solution to the problem by verifying their social media accounts for their fans to easily identify with their authentic content.

On Sunday, a screenshot of a pseudo account in Rema Namakula’s names made rounds on social media showing Rema in a bitter row with Bebe Cool regarding his views about the infamous social media tax. It caused an uproar from the excessively vocal Bebe Cool fans and other social media users who really bought the lie that it was Rema who had posted the abusive post.

Rema Namakula was forced to make a post on her own official personal page to refute the content in the screenshot that was circulating allover social media. She said it was not hers and that her official page is verified with a blue tick and it was so disrespectful of whoever made the abusive post.
