WCW | Leila Kayondo, a Woman of All Seasons

Leila Kayondo is our Woman Crush Wednesday (WCW) today. Currently signed to Nigerian record label, Striker Entertainment, the songstress has fought her way to acclaim her spot on the Ugandan music scene.

The name Leila Kayondo goes way back to 2009 when the Dream Girls, an all-girls music group, made their mark on the Ugandan music scene. She rose through the ranks to become one of the most respected female artistes in East Africa

With hit songs like ‘Awo’, ‘Relaxing’, ‘Kyana Gwe’, ‘Manifesto’, ‘Tompona’, among others, Leila Kayondo has found her way to the hearts of most music fans around East Africa. Her music career is largely self-made ever since she decided to break away from Dream Girls to start a solo career.

She has worked with some of the top talents in the Ugandan music industry including Jose Chameleone, Radio and Weasel, among others. She has also worked with other major names on the global music scene including Jamaica’s Nyanda on the ‘Kikute’ project.

Leila Kayondo’s relationship status has always been hanging and the only man she ever got so attached to was tycoon Sully K Mbuga in 2015. Their relationship was however cut short sighting domestic violence and Mbuga went on to marry fellow socialite Viviene Birungi something which frustrated Leila.

She has however moved on from the horrifying moment and while appearing on NBS TV’s KURT show a few weeks ago, she stated that she is seeing someone but prefers to keep it away from the public.

Despite her flaws, her fans have never lost the love for her music, fashion sense, and carefree attitude.

We love her just as much and we celebrate her today as our Woman Crush Wednesday!
