Ugandan gospel musician Levixone Lucas was nominated twice in the 2018 Sauti Awards and he comfortably won the Best Male Artiste Of The Year East Africa award, at a ceremony held in Atlanta, Georgia.

Gospel music a few years ago was not popular in Uganda and if somebody told you that a gospel artiste would win any award ahead of other artistes doing secular music, you would not believe. Today, most music charts will include a couple of gospel artistes.

They have gone ahead to win big major awards globally.

Levixone Lucas is one of the household names when it comes to Ugandan music today. He is a gospel artiste who broke through and became famous among the secular music fans, and his music is played even in bars and other night hangouts around East Africa.

He expressed his gratitude after winning;

Congratulations Levixone!
