The regional search for Miss Tourism Uganda kick started on Saturday with the Rwenzori region taking center stage as they crowned their beauty queen, who will represent the region as their tourism ambassador 2018/19.

The Miss Tourism Rwenzori event, which took place at the Uhuru Gardens Kasese, saw Doreen Masika ,22, beat 10 other contestants to the crown.

The first runner up was 19-year-old Peace Muhindo from Bundibujo district and Doreen Kahunde, 20, was also named as second runner up from Kasese district.

The event got off to somehow a very dull and slow start as the turn up wasn’t all that pleasing. But the organizers didn’t want to be dulled in their entertainment schedules as they kept on entertaining the ready and available revealers as performances went on from the lined up entertainers till the main event.

The contestants first hit stage with an eye-catching opening dance that so much excited the revealers before going on with their exhibitions in which they displayed their fashion talents as they made different outfits from different inspirations in regards to tourism.

That was followed on by the question and answer session that required general knowledge and logic which saw other contestants misfiring.

Unlike last year were the event was blown into a dramatic session during the Q&A , as one of the contestants reached a point of saying she was representing Mbale region to a point of choosing one basing on just being slightly taller than the others, these 2018 beauty girls were at least all the way up there .
