The annual Bayimba International Festival took place over the weekend at Lunkulu Island. Despite being taken away from the city to the little known islands, it registered massive crowds who gathered to party along the shores of Lake Victoria.

Whenever we approach the last quarter of the year, you know the clock is ticking towards party season in Uganda. Various music concerts, and annual festivals are already lined up in schedule and the party goers already know where they will be all through the season.

One of the best and most anticipated for festivals in Uganda is the Bayimba International Festival that happens every year. For over ten years, the event has been organized at the National Theatre in Kampala and there was a change this time.  This year’s event took place over the weekend at Lunkulu Island.

Many people attended despite the change in venue and they enjoyed perfromances from the top artistes in the country including Irene Namubiru, Maurice Kirya, Jose Chameleone, Shifah Musisi, among others. We have a few pictures for you;
