Rich Mavoko’s two years reign with Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) Records that has seen the birth of a few regional hits has finally come to an end officially. The singer represented the brand for over 26 months and he has shared his talent towards the success of Wasafi’s influence in the East African music industry.

Despite showing interest to leave the record label earlier, there were technicalities that were embedded in the contract he signed while joining the label in June 2016.

On Thursday 9th August, with the help and intervention of BASATA music board, Rich Mavoko’s request to leave the record label was officially accepted and the singer allowed to leave in good terms.

Rich Mavoko is believed to have lost favor with the WCB boss and always received biased treatment. His relationship with Diamond Platnumz was not the very best compared to the other Wasafi comrades who actually had such a very close touch with the ‘African Beauty’ singer.

He also alleges that Diamond was never open with him and only talked to him when it was time for work. With that, Mavoko felt pressurized because every time he faced Diamond, he was being asked about the new projects on table, nothing more.

Rich Mavoko will be announcing his next move but for now, he is resorting to doing a few projects as a solo artiste.
