High Court in Kampala ordered Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI), the Attorney General and the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) to produce Bobi Wine’s abducted bodyguard Mr Eddy Ssebuufu aka Eddie Mutwe to court.
The judge gave an order that Eddie Mutwe be produced to court on or before Tuesday 4 September, 2018 from Mbuya Military barracks next week.
Mr Ssebuufu alias Eddie Mutwe was expected to be produced before court yesterday but he did not appear a case that forced his lawyers to petition security forces to produce him before 4th September 2018.
Through his lawyer Mr Anthony Kusingura of Kiiza Mugisha Advocates, Eddie Mutwe was reportedly arrested by officers from Special Forces Command (SFC) on August 25th at Semakokiro Plaza in Kyamwokya, Kampala.
Since there is no representative from the attorney general’s office, I find the applicant’s claims substantial and agree with them. Security agencies are hereby ordered to produce the applicant in court on September 4 and show cause why he is being detained without producing him court,
Justice Musa Sekaana ruled.
Eddie Mutwe’s lawyer furthermore told court that his client has been detained for more than now 48 hours mandatory in the constitution for one to be produced in court.
