Ugandan’s in the diaspora of North America crowned Shalom Aburu as Miss Uganda North America over the weekend.
Aburu, who was seeded as contestant number eight from Seattle, Washington beat 10 other contestants to the crown.
Her triumph to the crown did not come as a surprise as earlier this year, Aburu was selected to represent Uganda at the Miss Africa Washington State Pageant.
The event was held at Hyatt Regency Seattle, Washington and saw singer Irene Ntale and Vanessa Jones entertain the audience.
The emceeing duo of Anita Fabiola and Adoch also spiced up the show as they cracked revelers ribs all night.
