The MTN sponsored Nyege Nyege festival is still on, the giant telecom company tweeted despite the early morning information that it could be cancelled.
The Party is STILL ON with only 2 days to #MTNNyegeNyege, the biggest festival of the year. Join the party with Tickets still available at the venue,
the tweet read in part.

Earlier, Tuesday morning, Ethics and Integrity Minister Fr Simon Lokodo wrote to the Internal Affairs Minister Jeje Odongo requesting him to cancel the event claiming that in the last two years, the show has been compromised to accommodate the celebration and recruitment of young people into homosexuality.
I urge you to instruct the Inspector General of Police to stop this event. I also propose that we have a meeting with you, IGP, Director of CID, to discuss this matter further,
the early morning letter read in part.
Fr Lokodo concluded by saying that he was not seeing any possibility of getting the event cleared as soon.

But with the latest information we just can not wait for the party to get started!
