First daughter Natasha Karugire premiered her war memoir “27 Guns” at the Metropole Cinema in Naalya on 8th September 2018. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and his wife Janet Museveni honored the event.
“27 Guns” is a story which features president Museveni, retelling the bush war struggle that ushered the current regime into power. On February 6th 1981, a small group of fighters, armed with 27 guns and pistols attacked Kabamba military barracks launching an armed struggle against the late Apollo Milton Obote’s government.
A masterpiece to take us back in the times, “27 Guns” was produced by the first daughter, Natasha Karugire and her sister, Diana Museveni Kamuntu stars in it, playing the role of her mother, Mrs Janet Museveni.
President Yoweri Museveni, who led the bush war attended the movie premiere as the Chief Guest, accompanied by his wife, among other big national figures in the country.
