Over the weekend the search for Miss Tourism ambassadors from Ankole region were held. Here Rebecca Ainembabazi won the crown.

Whilst Faith Ankunda and Claire Assimire took the first and second runners up places respectively. The weekend also saw Bunyoro and Kigezi each crowning its  Miss Tourism queens 2018/19 representatives.

20-year-old Ledisha Kuganyira, a student at Kampala International University was crowned as the queen of Miss Tourism Bunyoro beauty pageant representative.

Penlop Ampumuza,23, from Hoima  and Aidah Akiiki,24, from Masindi emerged as the first and second runners up respectively.

The crowning ceremony was held at MIIKA ECO Resort Hotel in Hoima district in a colorful event.

Whereas 21- year-old Faith Aniembabazi, a student at National Teachers College also emerged as the queen of Miss Tourism Kigezi beauty pageant.

The second year Diploma in Education student soared past five other contenders to the crown in a somehow highly contested race for the top seat.

Margaret Kankwanzi from Kisoro district and Emilly Atuheire From Kyambogo University also emerged as the first and second runners up respectively .

The beauty pageant saw the crowning of three more categories that have not been common on other Miss Tourism events and these included;

The crowning of  Miss Popularity category as this went to Emily Atuheire while Winfred Katushabe won the Miss Culture crown on the night.

Katushabe, who hails from Rukungiri district also became the of Kisoro Tourist Hotel whereas Susan Busingye from Kanungu became the face of Bwindi Mgahinga conservation area.

Also not forgetting Maureen Bitamba Owomugisha from Kabale was crowned Miss Talent for painting of Lake Bunyonyi.
