Mwanda Aaron a.k.a Smart Keys, the man behind your favorite hit songs, identifies himself as humble, creative, collaborative, and never stops dreaming of a bright future with his name as a powerhouse in the East African music industry.
Operating in one of the most underappreciated sectors in the music industry, Smart Keys is one of the most talented audio producers in Ugandan music today.
With a list of prominent and currently trending musicians that he has worked with, Smart Keys is proud of what he has already achieved in this journey which he started three years ago. He works under Sifa House Music studios which are located in Kansanga.
The award-winning producer has worked on projects with Eddy Kenzo, Fik Fameica, Lydia Jazmine, Byaxy, Coopy Bly, SK Simeon, and various others, generating hit songs like ‘Gwe Abisobola’, ‘Mukomboti’, among others that have turned out to become favorite bangers in most hangouts.
A believer in God who believes that He is the greatest reason for his success, Smart Keys believes that his brand as well is differentiated from other producers in the game because of his uniqueness in the mode of production.
His sound is enriched with electronic beats, but he is careful enough to fuse it with a local touch, which could be his identity as time goes on.
He does have his sights set ahead of him and he recently re-branded his name to Smart Keys from Cmert Keys, sighting complaints from the public about the hardships his fans face in trying to locate him on social media.
Smart Keys will be part of the Major Lazer concert when the trio comes to Kampala on 8th October at Sheraton Gardens. He states the American DJ trio as part of his inspiration, adding South African and Nigerian music styles as major influences.
Such a young man with great ambitions! He looks forward to creating a big brand and a record label to dominate East Africa musically, with his own studio and big artistes.
By the look of things, he is only going to get better with time and we cannot wait to see that happen. For now, let’s enjoy one of the songs he produced;
