Joanita Lubega Zachariassenn, commonly referred to as the ‘small woman with a big voice’, walked away with the top prize at the recently concluded 2018 DR LIVE singing competition in Denmark.
In May, we introduced to you a Ugandan lady who is making it big in the diaspora, profiling her as one of the next big things for the Ugandan music industry.
Just five months later, Joanita Zachariassenn is sweeping wins in the major singing competitions and very soon, she might be the biggest breakthrough this year.
She won the coveted prize of up to 250,000 DKr, equivalent to UGX 130 million, with her Kiss Kiss performance which wowed the crowds and seemed to please the judges who showered her with lots of compliments.
Some of the few artistes that have congratulated her include Bebe Cool who described her as someone who has made him really proud.
Well, congratulations Joanita, that’s just a sign of greater thing to come.We are proud of you!
