News reaching our desk reveals that legendary songstress/songwriter turned teacher Rachael Magoola has been announced as the official NRM flag bearer for newly created Bugweri district.
The Afrigo Band member won the race after beating three other contestants with a landslide victory.
She collected 13,172 votes, followed by Amina Mutesi with 6,691 votes, Birabwa Rose with 5,667, and Musibika Monica with 1,409 votes.
Magoola of the Obangaina fame will now face off with JEEMA party candidate, Sarah Babirye, People Power’s Mercy Walukamba, and FDC’s Lillian in the final showdown for the Bugweri Woman MP seat.
