Ugandan legendary artist Moses Ssali a.k.a Bebe Cool walked away with a top prize at the 2018 AFRIMA awards which took place in Accra, Ghana.

In a heated up build up to the 2018 AFRIMA awards, several Ugandans had ditched the issue of patriotism and instead rallied behind Tanzanian artiste Diamond Platnumz who had been nominated against Bebe Cool.

In the category of Best Male Artist in East Africa, Bebe Cool was nominated against several other talented artistes including Diamond Platnumz and Harmonize.

The fifth edition of the All Africa Music Awards happened in a ceremony in Accra, Ghana on Saturday 24th November 2018.

Uganda was represented by Bebe Cool and Irene Namatovu as nominees, Bobi Wine as a panelist, Anita Fabiola as a red-carpet host, among others.

Bebe Cool was announced the winner in his category, something which seemed to surprise the crowd who must have anticipated a win for Diamond Platnumz.

The Gagamel singer thanked his fans and followers for the big win as he emphasized the power of the ‘silent majority’.
