Songstress Iryn Namubiru has confirmed that she is ‘alive and safe’ after she was involved in the accident on Lake Victoria when a boat capsized carrying several revelers.
The death toll still stands at 27, with bodies still being retrieved from the wreckage of the boat that capsized on Lake Victoria en-route Mutima Island in Mpatta sub-county.
On the boat which was carrying revelers, Iryn Namubiru had joined several friends to a party on the boat cruise.

Iryn Namubiru was retrieved alive from the wreckage by a rescuer who did not make it himself amidst his heroic act as he tried to save more people.
The Bona Obasinga singer confirmed that she is fine but still receiving treatment, though traumatized.
