Ugandan singer Bobi Wine ordered the dispatchement of boats at his One Love Beach to join the rescue mission following the boat which capsized leaving scores dead on Lake Victoria.

With the nation mourning, the Uganda Peoples Defense Force and Uganda Police marines carried out a joint rescue mission to save victims of the Lake Victoria boat accident.

26 lives were saved and other scores drowned in Africa’s largest fresh water lake following an accident that saw a boat which was carrying revelers sink.

The tragic incident happened on Saturday evening as Bobi Wine was away in Ghana for the 2018 All Africa Music Awards.

When Kyadondo East MP Hon Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu received the news about the tragedy, he immediately ordered the dispatchment of all the boats on his One Love Beach Busabala to go help in the rescue mission.

Bobi Wine says he lost several of his friends on the boat and he joined the friends, families, and general nation in mourning for the lives lost.

May their souls rest in peace but what a gesture from Bobi Wine!
