The merger of the Uganda Premier League and the FUFA Awards bred into the massive Airtel Uganda – FUFA Awards of the Year. Airtel Uganda, a telecommunications giant stepped up and took charge of the biggest sports awards in the land. This year’s edition took place at the lavish Speke Resort in Munyonyo.
The arrival of football stakeholders in this country started at around 6pm until 8pm when the official ceremony took center stage. Interludes of performances would later follow as the awards were being given.
Irene Ntale unleashed a pretty soothing performance for the evening that perhaps could have left the footballing minds of this nation relaxed by the end of the evening. Before the enticing performance of Ntale and her dancers would go down well, Geosteady checked in performing some of his best songs like “Viola”, “Ndi Wamululu” and “Same Way” with Lydia Jazmine.
By the end of the very busy evening, UCU’s Ruth Aturo had emerged the winner of a brand new Toyota Gande with a fuel voucher of 500,000UGX from sponsors, on top of that she got a gong. For the Male Player of the Year, a stylish Moses Waiswa was voted and he equally earned himself among the so many rewards a car that he drove out of the venue with!
Airtel Uganda’s top brass like Remmy Kisakye and Noel Byuma were in attendance of the event and played part in the handover the vehicles.
