During the Legend Saba Saba concert on Friday 7th December at Lugogo Cricket Oval, Ruth Nankabira was invited to speak a few words to the revelers.

The current Government Chief Whip however did not get enough time to express herself as the singer of the day, Jose Chameleone, grabbed the microphone away before she went too far with her speech.

This seemed to excite the revelers as they grew wildly in cheers. Chameleone went on with his performance eventually forcing the visibly shook government official off stage.

Five days later, the Leone Island Music Empire CEO has admitted that what he did was not the best he could though it was the mood of the moment.

“People had started throwing bottles on stage when the honorable started talking. At that moment I only wanted to sing and deliver to my fans hence grabbing the mic.”

Chameleone also revealed that he was not told in time that there was a honorable in the house because had that been done, he would have recognized her in a special way.

He then apologized saying;

“I extend my sincere apologies to Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa. It wasn’t my intention but my people put me on pressure and I had to deliver because it was my night.”

He urges promoters to always be organized and let the artistes aware of what is to be done on stage in time so as to avoid similar scenarios.
