After several attempts of trying to bring him to Kampala, it has been confirmed that 56 years old Congolese music legend Awilo Longomba will be coming to Uganda for a music experience in 2019.

Growing up, most of us enjoyed the music that our parents loved to play loudly during their free time at home on those holidays.

It was the same music that most radio and television stations always played and it had its toll on us until we finally came of age to decide which type of music our ears wanted to listen to.

Lingala music from Zaire, now DR Congo, was a big part of Uganda’s entertainment industry and a major factor of the nightlife back in the days.

One of its kings, a legend in most aspects, Awilo Longomba, is coming to Uganda come 2019. Yes, you heard that right and this will be only his second time to perform in the Pearl Of Africa.

The singer who started his career as a drummer in the Viva La Musica band is expected to tear up Kampala Serena Hotel on 5th April 2019.

With so many memories attached to his music, this is expected to be one of the most exciting and thrilling shows of 2019.

With songs like Coupe Bibamba, Gate le Coin, Karoline, Modongo, it will be a music showdown at Serena and it is one show we cannot miss.

What we know for sure is that he still has his faithful fans in the +256 and his energy on stage has not dropped any single bit.  This will be the show to attend.
