Just like their counterpart Bobi Wine in Uganda, singers Diamond Platnumz and Rayvanny have been banned from performing in and out of Tanzania by BASATA.

Baraza la Sanaa la Taifa (BASATA), a government regulatory body which banned the singers’ song Mwanza a few weeks ago, has now banned them from anymore performances in and out of Tanzania.

This comes after the Wasafi singers disobeyed the body’s orders not to perform the banned song anywhere.

During the Wasafi Festival in Mwanza City on Sunday 16th, they went ahead and performed the song for the big crowds that had gathered to watch them sing.

This appeared as a sign of disrespect and the government has taken a bold decision to ban them from performing anywhere else.

It is revealed that the Wasafi music label had began preparations for another Wasafi Festival concert to happen in Mombasa on 26th December.

We are yet to get the reaction from the artistes following these new developments but we shall keep you updated as soon as we get more information.
