Some of the Music Promoters

Events and music promoters and managers met the Speaker of Parliament Hon. Rebecca Kadaga yesterday to discuss about Bobi Wine’s ban from performing again.

A case of solidarity as one group is up to fight for their own? Or is it just a case of many losses?

As you already know, the recent weeks since his Kyarenga concert have been the worst for Bobi Wine as a musician.

All the concerts he had been booked to perform at were canceled with directives from the Uganda Police stopping the organizers from letting Bobi Wine to perform.

On Thursday, a group of over ten events managers, promoters and musicians petitioned the speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga over the blocking the singer.

They revealed to her that through these few weeks, they have incurred lots of losses after their concerts were halted just because Bobi Wine had been booked to perform.

They are really not at per with the way police goes on to cancel these shows without clear explanation

This is a fight against the entertainment industry and if police is not reigned upon, the industry will be in problems. Something needs to be done.

The group asked Kadaga to help them normalize the situation because they are music promoters who earn a living from the business, and it is their right.
