The annual Nkuuka fete seems to be the highlight of the year ending events and the 2018 edition has been engulfed by disagreements among organizers over Bobi Wine’s presence.

Since his Kyarenga concert, Kyadondo Est MP and singer Bobi Wine has been banned from performing at any music concert within Uganda.

On Wednesday, the Kyarenga singer was blocked by police from holding his Boxing Day show at One Love Beach Busabala.

The organizers of the annual Nkuuka Buganda Kingdom festival have also disagreed on whether Bobi should be allowed to chant political slogans at the festival come 31st December.

Two co-promoters of the show failed to agree on whether the singer should go ahead and perform with worries that he will mention political slogans which could incite the mammoth crowds expected to attend.

It should be noted that those wearing red outfits will not be allowed to access the Kabaka’s palace in Mengo where Nkuuka will take place. This is because the color is identified with the People Power movement.

Mr Moses Lubulwa, the director of Luba Events revealed that despite Bobi Wine being allowed to perform at the concert as any other artiste, he should desist from involving politics at the event.

Bobi Wine has performed in Nkuuka all 10 years, it has been running. He is coming as a singer not politician. This is not his show but a show for Kabaka.

Fellow co-promoter Abbey Musinguzi a.k.a Abtex disagreed saying that Bobi Wine is a Ugandan citizen with rights to exercise his freedoms without caution.

He also questioned whether politics had been banned from Uganda and why people have to be stopped from wearing their favorite colors.

Have those people stopping you from wearing red bought for you the clothes to wear other than red? People should come in any colour of their choice. Is politics barred from this country?”
