Singer Ykee Benda has opened up on his hit single Farma that was endorsed by the Ugandan government saying he did not receive a single penny despite his song being used to promote Agriculture.

The Kireka Boy made the revelation as he was narrating how he creatively came up with the Farma song before singer Sheebah Karungi hopped onto it for a remix that went so viral.

I did not get any penny from the government out of my ‘Farma’ song although they endorsed it in promoting Agriculture.

However, Ykee Benda expressed that he was so happy about the song since it got him signed to his first management label BADI and the remix opened doors for him that have never since then closed.

He added that he is to optimistic that no one can even tease him that he will be a failure because he came from way far to make it top in the music industry.

While together with his long time friend who used to shelter him after his form six, they visited the area in Muntungo- Biina to check where they used to rent only to find when there single room and their neighborhood had turned into a nursery school.
