Comedienne Ann Kansiime has expressed her disappointment in the regulations being proposed in regard to entertainment for public entertainers, events organizers and promoters that were released.

In a post on her Facebook wall, Kansiime stressed that she finds the new proposed regulations highly incongruous and fit to be considered laughable to earn or provoke ridicule and derision.

How do I even start to express my disappointment in my country this early in the year!!! On a personal level I find this ridiculous and cannot find the right words to analyse this unfortunate turn of events.

So far many artistes are still tight-lipped about their views on the proposed regulations which Kansiime called an attack on the arts industry.

But what we have learnt as of now is that the president of Federation of Performing Artistes of Uganda (FPAU), Andrew Benon Kibuuka is backing the regulations to be passed.

It’s alleged that some few years back he moved a motion proposing that there should be some regulations be put in place for artistes but most of them declined to abide by his proposal.
