For every statement made in Uganda today, you might need to come up with a backing to defend your stand or clear the air. Cindy was forced to retract her own opinion on music having been politicized.

On the evening of January 21st, Cindy Sanyu came out to reveal how the Ugandan music industry has been infiltrated with too much politics.

She strongly noted that this has been done by the artistes themselves and the politics is coming back to bite them in regard to the proposed regulations on public performances.

The Onnina singer got backlash from several music fans and a few fellow artistes who rather interpreted her statements to be siding with the regime in power against the others.

It is to the above effect that the singer decided to make a video clearly explaining her stand in the statements she made.

“I am not against anyone. I was just acknowledging the fact that we have brought politics in our industry and it’s biting on us.”

Well, do you buy what she’s selling? Coz we are tempted to.
