Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi, a.k.a Bobi Wine, has without fear declared that he stands with NBS Television journalist Solomon Serwanjja amidst the challenges he is facing currently.
This comes after Mr Serwanjja’s home was raided by security operatives who arrested his wife Vivian Serwanjja and two other BBC correspondents for reportedly carrying out investigations on inappropriate usage of government drugs yesterday.
In statement on his social media platforms, Bobi Wine echoed out how he strongly supports and appreciates Mr Serwanjja’s work and efforts of trying to expose all the illegal theft and sale of government drugs.
I stand with Solomon Serwanjja and the other investigative journalists who are being persecuted by some security operatives for trying to expose the illegal theft and sale of government drugs.
Bobi Wine wrote
Bobi Wine went on condemn the government for always fighting those who put their tools to the best use in bringing an end to corruption instead of supporting them.
This government has over the years had a reputation of viciously going against those who are vigilantly fighting corruption instead of going against the corrupt.
He backed Mr Simon Kaggwa Njala’s statement in which he stated that journalists are now working under hostile environment.
Journalists in particular have had it rough working in a very hostile environment.
In a not so long statement this time round, Bobi Wine concluded saying that it’s the thieves of these drugs who should be prosecuted, not those who are trying to expose them.
