Ugandan songstress Laura Karungi, commonly known as Ainebintu, stands with the Miss Curvy beauty pageant which she says is a positive campaign to uplift women in the country.

The Miss Curvy beauty pageant, a campaign involving naturally endowed, nice looking women and spearheaded by the State Minister for Tourism in Uganda Hon Kiwanda Godfrey Suubi, has received backlash from the public.

Many people, especially women, believe it is too degrading because it demonstrates them as a commodity on the market for sale.

Well, not all women agree with that school of thought. One of those who have stood up in support of the campaign is upcoming songstress Ainebintu.

In her own words, Ainebintu had this to say;

People don’t spend time around thick women but we have struggled hard for the longest time to be accepted in society. Let’s look at this in the positive way. It’s uplifting the women in the country.

One would argue that Aine is just standing with several other women like her who love to flaunt their curvy bodies unapologetically.

Do you agree with her on this?
