Swengere backs Miss Curvy, says he has no problem with the campaign

As the Miss Curvy pageant continues to spark mixed opinions, Swengere the comedian finds no problem with the newly launched contest by Minister Godfrey Kiwanda Suubi.

According to Swengere’s argument, he stresses that if Ugandans really feel proud of their country and appreciate Ugandan things then they should not be afraid to flaunt what God gave them.

He then took an example of our neighbors Rwanda as he noted that one of the reasons why they continuously outshine us (Uganda) is because of the publicity of their nice looking ladies and that none of their women rights organs have ever come out to condemn.

All this “Miss Curvy Tourism” issue has been on for some good days and I think I should also state my mind about it. Personally I don’t see any a problem with that campaign. If we claim we are Ugandans and proud of our own Ugandan things then I think we should be proud of show casing the beauty held in our Ugandan women. Take a look at Rwanda….one of the things that has kept it on the scene is the publicity of those ladies but have never seen women rights organs coming up to speak against it.

He then advised that if in Uganda we can’t get beautiful ladies to compete with those of Rwanda he suggested that at least those with curves should represent.

Swengere’s comments came after upcoming singer Ainebintu showed strong support of the Miss Curvy contest, considering that she is one curvaceous lady.
