Singer Jose Chameleone’s DNA bar was closed on Wednesday evening, just a few hours before it hosted the late Emmanuel Mayanja a.k.a AK47’s tribute night.

The bar’s three months operation license was brought to a sudden stop over unfinished authority clearances.

DNA becomes the third bar to be shut in Kololo following the closure of Big Mike’s bar and Atmosphere Lounge a few weeks back.

Atmosphere Lounge and Big Mike’s bar were shut over noise pollution and flouting public health regulations as well as lack of operational licenses.

The closure of these bars was pointed at as a major crackdown on noise polluters in the city launched by Kampala Capital City Authority’s (KCCA) letter.

Below is DNA’s statement in full;

We regret to inform our esteemed customers that our earlier anticipated AKAY 47 night at DNA tonight will not take place due to circumstances beyond our control.

Our three months of operations have been put to a halt by unfinished Authority clearances which we are dedicated to accomplishing as soon as possible.

DNA Lounge is dedicated to serve and intends to continue valueing your support.

A later date will be communicated on when to hold the event.

We will be operational this weekend.
