With each day that comes, we draw nearer towards the much anticipated 2021 general elections in Uganda.
That has also come with so much heat driven by the fact that the elections are likely to be greatly influenced by Ugandan celebrities, particularly Bobi Wine who made his intentions to stand for presidency known.
Since joining parliament, the Kyadondo East MP has been greatly supported by his former comrades in the music business one of whom is Eddy Kenzo.
On Sunday, however, the BET award winner attacked sections of the opposition through Facebook where he noted that it is Bobi Wine who has given Ugandan politics the actual meaning of opposition.
He mentioned that the other opposition members who have existed before Bobi Wine have been crooks and now the ‘Kyagulanyi effect’ is being felt.
There were guns blazing in the comment section as fans and critics made their voices heard in reply to Kenzo’s statement.
Among those included female opposition stronghold Ingrid Turinawe; the Chairperson of the Women’s League in the main opposition party FDC.
She questioned Kenzo’s intentions in posting such a statement with the comment below;
Can’t you support your choice without tarnishing and blackmailing others? Sad.Ingrid Turinawe | Facebook
Her comment was met with both support and criticism as Kenzo’s fans accused her of being one of the moles in the opposition.
