Swangz Avenue set to venture in African movies production

Just a few days after settling into their new home based in Industrial area, one of Uganda’s most successful record labels Swangz Avenue has revealed the next big move in the entertainment industry.

Through their social media, Swangz Avenue announced a call for scripts from local writers with an aim of inviting the talented Ugandan writers on board.

Swangz Avenue has been in the music business for over ten years now and they celebrated the big milestone in 2018 with an event that was crowned with a wonderful performance from Jamaican superstar Tarrus Riley.

Throughout the long journey, Swangz has worked with artists like Mowzey Radio (RIP) GNL Zamba, Rabadaba, Navio, Irene Ntale, Winnie Nwagi, Vinka, and several others.

One other special moment that must have added credibility to their brand came last year when they were chosen to work with American rap icon Kanye West on his visit to the Pearl of Africa in October.

Film could entirely be a huge challenge for the several technicalities involved and their ambitions to venture in the field should be inspired by their past success in the music world.

Swangz however has a clue about the film industry after producing several world class music videos in addition to immense experience in the TV advert production.

It is the recording house behind the famous MTN ‘Bosco’, MTN ‘Dismas Mr. Google Sir’, and Airtel 4G commercials which have all gone viral.

The question of whether they can use the same experience in the commercials’ world to guarantee success in the film venture will be answered by the greatest determinant of all – time.

We wish them well and hope they can add a brick on the film industry too.
