Joel Basekezi Ssenyonyi’s media journey began at UBC TV in 2006. After several years in the industry, he has decided to quit and start a political career as we close in on 2021.

The former NTV Uganda news anchor and talk show host confirmed his departure in his last bulletin at the Kampala Serena Hotel-based TV station on Thursday evening.

His fellow workmates at NTV sent him off with some cake after his bulletin as they celebrated his contribution to the station and bid him farewell on live TV.

Joel then took it to social media to announce his departure and sources close to him reveal that he will not be involved in media work anymore. He is believed to partake a political career real soon.

Congratulations on a job well-done Joel! Thirteen years is not such a short time and you have contributed greatly. We wish you the very best in your next endeavors.
