Zari Hassan revealed that she has no plans of ever returning to the stage as a singer as she focuses on her businesses and taking care of her family.

Zari was a musician before she was swept off her feet by Diamond Platnumz – a relationship which made her even more famous on the African continent.

With songs like Hotter Than Them, Kikoona, Nkwata, Oliwange, Jukila, among others, Zari was one of the top music acts in Uganda around 2007.

She wasn’t your ordinary singer and will be remembered as one of the artists who invested so much in her music videos.

Zari’s song Oliwange went on to be nominated in the 2008 Africa Channel O awards in the Best East African Video of the Year category.

Despite being engaged to Tanzania’s top singer Diamond Platnumz in recent years, Zari has avoided the temptation to stand in the booth again and she revealed why.

I’m focusing on making money so that I become a billionaire. Music takes a lot of time before you can actually earn from it especially here in Africa unlike in America. Down here, for one to acquire that international status, it’s so difficult. I will just stick to business and take care of my family.

When asked whether she will rather opt for turning up as a video vixen or an actress, Zari had this to say;

Video vixen? I’m past that stage. For movies, I’ve had a lot of offers but the pay is not good plus it requires a lot of time including spending days away from home.

But if I get a good offer for a movie, why not? I’m very talented, I can multi-task. I’m a mum, a businesswoman – I used to be a musician. I can do it all. I can still be an actress.

There you have it. Don’t be surprised when you see Zari in the next movie you watch.
