For a skit gone wrong, renown Ugandan comedy pair; Maulana and Reign, apologize to the Kabaka and people of Buganda Kingdom.

Last week, promising comedy duo comprising of Kasozi Haidari a.k.a Maulana and Lubega Obeid a.k.a Rein faced backlash from several of their fans and critics alike on social media following a controversial skit.

During one of their performances at a comedy show, Maulana and Reign are said to have uttered disrespectful and offensive words towards Baganda and their Kabaka.

The pair were consequently attacked on social media and also received a warning from the Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga over their language.

While appearing on NBS TV’s UnCut show, the pair accepted their fault but maintained that it was never in their intentions to come off offensive towards Baganda and the Kabaka.

They also apologized for their actions as they asked for forgiveness from whoever was inconvenienced by the video.

We are Baganda men ourselves, we did not make that video to offend the Buganda Kingdom nor to insult the King. Our intentions were to teach but I think we did it wrongly. If it offended anyone, we ask for your forgiveness.
