For three years, Mohammed Yahfoufi has been the Marketing Coordinator for the third largest telecommunications company in Uganda; Africell Uganda.
Before joining Africell, Yahfoufi – a graduate of Marketing from Lebanese American University, worked with multinational advertising company Leo Burnett, serving its unit in Dubai.
He did his internship at Impact BBDO – a top advertising firm in the Middle East and was certified by Udacity for taking lessons in Google Adwords and Digital Marketing.
Yahfoufi joined Africell Uganda in June 2016 as he replaced Marvin Wiltshire Kagoro – currently the Marketing and Communications manager at Total Uganda.
During his reign as Marketing Manager at Africell Uganda, Yahfoufi played a big role in establishing the digital marketing platforms of the company.
He set up the company’s social media accounts and was paramount in increasing its following. He also established a successful inflencer program.
The telecom’s flagship data marketing campaigns; ‘Don’t Be Cheated’, ‘SWIFT bundles’, and ‘Triple Data’ were all overseen by Yahfoufi.
It is widely because of him that celebrities like Douglas Lwanga and Sheilah Carol Gashumba accepted to join Africell’s marketing team to promote the brand in Uganda as its ambassadors.
Douglas Lwanga acquired Africell’s official sponsorship for his ‘Purple Party’ tour, an outstanding event in Uganda’s entertainment industry that has marketed the telecom company.
Yahfoufi wraps up his duties at Africell to join one of the global betting houses with footprints in 21 countries including Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
With the new contract, Yahfoufi is expected to develop the online following and revenue of the betting house.
